Operating and Consulting Services for Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Water System

Water Certification level 2 or above, and Wastewater Certification level 3 or above, to operate and oversee the Village’s Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and provide consultation in the operation of the Village’s Water System. This individual shall perform the services as an independent supplier and not as an employee of the Village.

WWTP – Operate, monitor, maintain, and trouble-shoot the wastewater treatment facility and its processes. Work involves responsibility for the technical aspects of plant operations, compliance with state and federal operating regulations, underground sewer system, and preparation of regulatory and compliance reports.  The Village of Questa (Village) is soliciting an individual with Wastewater Certification Level 3 or above . Work is performed with considerable independence, subject to review through reports and results achieved. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to: Perform all aspects of sampling, monitoring and testing required to maintain compliance with Federal State and Local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process, and storm water and sludge management; Perform the installation, maintenance and repair of the physical plant and pump stations and all of their components; Act as the Department’s representative to the public; Assist in the performance of regular and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and machinery. On call to respond to emergencies and breakdowns at the plant and pump stations. Provide training to staff on the necessary weekend checks of the treatment plant; perform all work in conformance to Occupational Safety and Health Act regulations. Maintain open communications with the Village’s Administrator and Mayor regarding the treatment process and pump stations operation and malfunctions, as well as make recommendations for repairs and improvements to these systems.

Water System – Provide oversight to public works foreman to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Oversee the collection of water samples to ensure compliance. Provide oversight in trouble shooting any issues that arise in the water system and recommendations for repairing these issues.
